Music Lesson: Strawberry Fields, part 4 (guitar chords)

In this lesson you will learn how to play 3-string chords to the Beatles version of Strawberry Fields. All chords are in the first Position/Region (frets 1 – 4).

TRY THIS
  1. Learn the “voicings” I have written.
  2. Play them along with the video.

Note: The recording is between A and Bb. Use a tuner to tune all strings 50 cents sharp. Or by ear, tune the A-string to the A-chord in measures 8-12. Then tune the rest of the strings. Fret 5 of A = D, then Fret 5 of D = G, Fret 4 of G = B, Fret 5 of B = E, Fret 7 of A = E for low E.

  1. Is it possible in this chart that bar 9 is actually bar 8? Or in other words, bar 8 in the chart could simply be removed? When I play along that’s the only way I can get it to work.

  2. Yes, you’re right. It was a test and you passed ! Good ears. Delete the bar.
